Lately I've managed to buy P1 US and thought that I would play it in order to kill time before 14th but the game started to freeze on me randomly after entering trapdoors in Karma Palace. The game disk is in good condition and I've recently bought a new laser for my PSX - what's is wrong then? Is this a known problem?

I'm not sure either...I'm playing that game too,but on the ROM.I already beat that place 2 days ago,and I'm at Castle Mana..had to retreat for now,I ran out of Lifeorbs.I Hate those Lips...any way to avoid that "Extinct" spell?

But I'm not really sure what the problem is,I've never had games freeze on me,even with my PS1,however,I haven't touch my PS1 in years...so I don't know what else to tell you.Sorry to hear that happen to you.

Well, I will check it out on PS2 - maybe it's my PSX after all (it's an old model - scph-5502).

Maybe.

Just curious, what characters do you have?

Not including the protagonist,Nate,Brad,Mark and Mary.I kind of regret not getting Chris, because of his Devil Guni, but I didn't find out how to get him, until I was 7 hours into the game...it was already too late to go back, and I didn't feel like starting all over.

It turned out that the freezing was due to my PSX overheating... Come to think about it, it was kinda' pathetic for Sony not to include any fan... ;P

Unfortunately, I don't have any bonus characters. I didn't even knew that you can recruit them. I must admit that I don't like P1 too much - I'm playing this game only because I want to complete all Persona games. So it's a speed run out of a necessity...

I've had the game since it was released here, but haven't ever been able to complete it...

Seriously, sometimes I think having a Gameshark would be worthwhile xd. I finished that one way back (I actually got it used at Blockbuster a bit after it came out, of all places), but I'd have a really hard time plowing through it again.

I still have the booklet but I have no idea what happened to the game itself.  Good times though.  I'd love to play the Japanese version someday.  I don't think I ever completed it though.  As I recall the disc got mildly damaged and it liked to freeze a lot in that super dungeon towards the end of the game.    Never could get a damn Fool card in that game though.

I have thought off and on about purchasing the Japanese version as well.

For a Fool card, must the demon be interested and happy at the same time?

Oh, I was talking about Revelations: Persona.  If I recall correctly it supposedly happened by way of a random fusion accident that only occurs 1/75 chances or something like that.  I started to think that maybe they even removed them from the English version like the Snow Queen Quest since, for me at least, it was just impossible to get one.

Oh, I considered that a mutation. But yeah, I haven't had one happen either.

You mean a Fool persona (though I think they might've been graphically represented by cards)

At any rate... the demons turn into cards of that demon (without an arcana) unlike in the other Persona games.

I just dug this thread out of Emilio's best of picks cause it was called Karma Palace like the board biggrin

I didn't know there was a Karma Palace in Megaten... at least it was Persona1. I remember the Harem Queen being in a dungeon called Karma something I guess... I wonder if the names were the same in the Japanese game (I've only played the SQQ)

I guess that means the Karma Palace board is populated by shirtless male servants aroused

PS: I always got the first Fool persona, but never saw the higher level ones.
