Title: Growlanser Post by: Neao on August 12, 2007, 08:31:00 PM So, I happened on this game looking at Atlus' developed video games. It looked interesting enough, and I briefly looked over it. What I saw really interested me. But I had some questions on the chronological order of the series. If I'm right, Growlanser Generations has 2 and 3 of the series in it. Growlanser 1 and 4 were never released in America, and Growlanser 5: Heritage of War is coming out in September. Could someone verify if I'm correct, and also, 1 and 4 have no plans of being released to America?
One more question, how tightly woven is the story of one game to the subsequent release? If the series isn't released fully in America, wouldn't that cause some holes in the story? Title: Re: Growlanser Post by: aerozero on August 12, 2007, 09:03:30 PM Growlanser V has nothing to do with the other games, so it's a good Growslanser to start out with. I'm picking a copy up, since it's a limited print and I'm a sucker for those goodies (plus the art is gorgeous).
Title: Re: Growlanser Post by: Neao on August 12, 2007, 10:34:40 PM Yes, I'm going to reserve V. This series looks really interesting.
I think I'll call around gamestops to see if there's a used Growlanser Generations, which I doubt they'll have though. Title: Re: Growlanser Post by: Emilio Morales on August 12, 2007, 11:21:42 PM This Growlanser has a connection with the SEGA games, Langrisser Hikari?
Title: Re: Growlanser Post by: lipucd on August 12, 2007, 11:29:38 PM As far as story continuation...you can live without 1 or four as far as 2 and 3 are concerned. But yes...1 and 4 are never comming out here, WD was GOING to translate but do to them closing down this is now a never. As far as generations goes, defetnly play 2. 3's a mixed bag for me...so I can't recommened it...>_>;;

Not that I know of, with my limited knowledge of the series. Wikipedia doesn't connect it, and Wiki knows all:P. Title: Re: Growlanser Post by: Neao on August 18, 2007, 08:15:44 PM I have a question for anyone who has the deluxe edition. Is it even worth it? The only thing that interests me from it is the soundtrack, and I don't think that warrants a big price jump.

In my copy I got three pins, two cards, a keychain, bonus DVD, and an artbook. And I believe the delux is the only version that's being released in the U.S. Title: Re: Growlanser Post by: Neao on October 18, 2007, 08:35:38 PM Eventhough I already got the normal Growlanser Generations copy, I meant the Generation Delux package. Not the Heritage of War package, if that's what you meant.
