We've created a klan for new player orientation and mingling called DDDBジャンプ. We hope you will join us. Since the klan was created a few days ago, there are only a few members so far including the proprietor of these forums and website. We expected more interested granted the chatter lately surrounding Imagine. All of the current members are Sub Masters, so hopefully someone will be available for registration.

We believe there is a login event during this period. So there is a greater oppertunity for immediate registration through the next few days.

This thread supercedes the original proposal thread.

If you would like to join us. Please post your characters name. And we will add you asap.

Also, you should make your characters profile public, so we can more easily add you from any zone. To do so. Select the COMM button from the blue button window. From the popup menu, select the third menu item (フリンドリスト -- friendlist) now select (公開設定) and change the first radial, then hit (決定) and you are good. Now your friends can see where and what channel you are on when online. And this seems to effect whether you can accept a klan invite from any zone.

Please don't be shy. Anyone and everyone is welcome. It is not a real klan, as much as a facility to make getting started less daunting.

Yes, it's a headache however that you must be online to be accepted I think. If you use the terminal in 3rdHome to petition for registration, this might not be the case.

There is probably a way to enter the name of the klan into the terminal and bring up the klan -- as opposed to browsing for it. And from there leave a petition for membership which can be filled while you are offline. But I will have to look into it.

The last time I tried the terminal interface graphics went haywire, because of a common somewhat random Vista video memory corruption bug which is most likely on Microsoft's onus.

All of the Submasters should look out for new members until I can verify the use of the terminal for offline registration, and post a tutorial.

So basically what I need to enter that klan, is just be online and do what you ask for?

But I have a question. Do I´ll need to leave the "Globe" klan to enter this new klan?

Yes, a character can only be a member of one klan at a time.

If you are online at the same time as a Submaster, you will just need to hit a confirm button, if your profile is public. As for whether you must technically leave your current klan first, I imagine your klan will just change, but it wouldn't hurt to do so via one of the few buttons available to a normal member from the klan window.

Btw, however you registered with the Globe klan. If you wish to join the DDDB klan, just do the same thing you did then. I will figure out the rest asap.

Ok, if I need to do the same when I joined with the "Globe" klan, then count me in, but the problem is... I can´t remember well what do I did to join the Globe klan, :doh: if you can guide me , I´ll appreciate it. :king:

How was your experience with the Globe klan?

This clan isn't intended to be a real klan. It is geared toward encouraging everyone who plays Megaten to feel comfortable tryring Imagine. Hopefully they will stick with the game and eventually graduate out of the klan, or do so with another character, into more fraternal/collegial klans of their own. The DDDB klan is there to get your character started with minimal tediouisness and confusion and help everyone feel welcome.

From my interaction with the Globe klan originators/steering committee, they have the general notion that there should only be one klan for English speakers, and that Imagine will never catch on with mainstream English players. For some reason unless you are in their klan, they are also very exclusive, which only further alienates players from trying and adopting Imagine.

The Megaten community has a long tradition of playing Japanese only games. There is no reason we can't cooperate to help everyone enjoy Imagine.

Ok, I looked into the terminal. You can't search for a klan by name, but apparently klans can assign a filter to themselves. Unfortunately both of my characters are in Shinjuku, and I'm guessing choosing the filter must be done by the Master in the klan city. So I've made my higher level character Master temporarily, and will make the trip to 3rdHome hopefully later tonight after I contract an Azumi in Nakano.

In the meantime, you can post after you login, and hopefully I will notice at some point and add you if you are still ingame.

Once I setup the filter -- mind you I've no idea what to expect terminal interface wise, I will choose the Klan For Begginers filter, which is 3rd or 4th in the list. I will post the Japanese title for it after everything is setup. If people have a hard time finding the klan, I might use one of hte more obscure filters, just so there are fewer klans to wade through.

Well about my experience with the Globe klan, was really amazing, all the people there were willing to help at any time, they were really nice by helping me with all the quests I have been trough (only 4).

But of course if there is a klan for this forum, I want to be there, maybe I learn something new (of course I´ll do). Anyway, if I sign in today, I`ll post it so you can add me.

Ok, the terminal should be setup now. At the moment however, I can't really coach on how to use it to register if possible . When I can, I will kick myself out of the klan, and try to register via the terminal.

I dunno, the terminal recruitment system seems retarded. I set everything up, then changed the Master, and left the klan so I could try to use the terminal to rejoin. Now I can't find the klan advert. I guess it was removed, because I created it, then left the klan, or because the klan master changed.

The icons are not representative of the klan, they are only recruitment adverts you can create. And I'm not even sure you can even use them as a join mechanism. In any case, it looks like tonight is a maintanence period as usual per Wednesday.

You can send a message to a klan leader via the terminal. I'm not sure if it can be used to confirm your membership or not.

I'll be on in a little while. I apologize for not fully comprehending the terminal interface yet. I suspect it won't be much help however even after I do get a steady advert up. Its a little difficult for me to handle the klan in 3rdHome really, as I tend to home point at Shinjuku.

editted: I can register you if you login tonight. I will periodically check to see if your characters are online. I apologize the game makes the process so diffiicult. Once the klan is larger, if you befriend any klan members in the game, they will be able to let you know when a master is available. Or hopefully the terminal will work out. I should be able to run some intensive expiriments tonight.

We were able to workout the Terminal registration system. I'll write-up a propper tutorial when I can. But basically you'll need to go to the 3rdHome Terminal. And find the klan in the adverts. The klan should appear fairly obvious. It is called DDDB and has the Url of this website as its catch phrase.

You will have to cycle through the newer adverts. Using the 3rd filter could speed this up. It is the beginner filter. I'm nearly certain it is the 3rd as of tis writing.

You will need to navigate it until you find an option to send a message. This automatically leaves you immune to addition to the klan. Just send a message, and you will be added as soon as I see it!

This will work whether you are on or offline.

editted: Oh yes, I'm told, but have not confirmed, that if an update occurs all of my pending messages will be lost. So if you send a message right before an update, know that I might miss it. Oh yes, surely submasters can see these messages/add you as well!

Hey. After seeing this, I decided to finally register on the forums. I tried to send a message in the Klan registration thing, but I'm not sure if I did it right. After you type your message, is the right button the submit option? It's what I pressed, and hoped for the best. I go by Drem in the game also. I used the Japanese input to write it, but I don't remember if I wrote it in full-width alphanumeric or half-width alphanumeric, or if it matters.

Drem was added via the passive terminal system. The rest of you have apparently not tried to use it or could not figure it out.

I send petitions out, but everyone appears to be offline. There is a chance your profile is not public, but most likely odds are we just miss each other.

I edit up a list of members and trying to join users in the top post. But you really all should try to send a message via the terminal in the meantime. It is quite straight forward even if you can't comprehend a word. I will try to write up a tutorial when I am able eventually.

You need to leave your previous klan first I reckon at this point. Someone offered to do a screenshot tutoriral registration via the terminal. I will again try to write up a tutorial asap as well (Of course, thanks for the going public tutorial Enid!)

After you send a "message" it may not be obvious everything is working. But just wait, and you should be added eventually without intervention. I still have not confirmed however whether submasters receive duplicates of your messages. I imagine they do, because otherwise their would be precious little purpose for submasters.

AFAIK, you, Emilio, are the only one who has expressed interest so far, who has yet to be added to the DDDB klan.

Well sorry if I can´t join to the klan but this f***ing internet service is pissing me off. Anyway I´ll keep trying until I join, but I will wait for the tutorial you give me, for how to leave my previous klan.

There is nothing to be sorry for of course. If anything we should apologize for not making everything as easy as possible.

As or leaving your klan, just open the klan page and bang on buttons until your klan affiliation title disappears or the klan page goes blank!

editted: As for a tutorial write up, my hands are tied until I walk one of my characters from Shinjuku to 3rdHome, so I can see what the process is like. So it is not so simple for me, so please try other means before holding your breath for a tutorial. If a screenshot tutorial is produced, that is someone elses matter. Of course there is no immediate imperitive to join up other than playing with your board mates who already have.

I'm interested in collecting people who are into learning Japanese for a guild I plan to setup. I think I decided yesterday it will be called ＣＡＳＵＡＬ外人. There is a store in the game named CASUAL, so I reckon Japanese players probably have a vague recognition of the word in English.

I had the idea, that it might work well if we entered our digitaldevildb forum screen-names into our online status bars! This way we can tell who's who easily. Hopefully theree will be enough room after you name to add your status as well if you want :)

All you need to do is copy your screen-name into the field you can see in Enid's visual tutorial quoted below, and you are set!

Assuming you wish too, we should have a tutorial up sooner or later. My friend said she has the screenshots just needs to post something I guess.

Soeaking of which, now would be a good time to explain to submasters how to register new recruits. You just need to open the Comm group and choose the [!] icon. If there are any new recruits their messages will popup. Just open the message and click the add button in the lower right corner and the message will go away and the player will be added!

I haven´t played yet, but if you can show me how to leave a klan it will be better, anyway I will try to just press buttons like you say, but the other time didn´t work :(

There is supposed to be a tutorial coming up if you can wait. But you should do just fine. Worst thing that could happen is you give someone a friend invite. Just stick to the smaller butttons. As for registration, good luck finding the klan amongst all the others.

I might make yet another new cleaned up thread after the screenshot tutorials are all available.

If the klan ever overflows, I submit that the oldest/advanced members be kicked out to form their own klans. Hopefully members will leave voluntarily before that is necessary. But that is this klan's model I think. It's for new blood.

I have enough time to leave my previous klan and sign in here, but I don´t know if I do it right, cause I receive a red text on the chat window, but the name of the klan appear on the name of my char, can anyone of you check if Im in?

I can't Imagine why you would receive red text, unless you might get that if no other klan mates are online atm. You can see who is online in the klan window.

Everyone, I suggested before, to enter your forum name into your Online Status field, but I've since learned that you can only see players online status in your friendlist, and not the klanlist. So I suggest whenever you are online with another klan member, to add each other to your friendlists. There is a button to do this in your klan window (it is the very wide one)

You will recieve notice when your friends login, and you can also easily message friends via the message button in your friends window.

So unless anyone objects, I move that it be klan policy, if any klan mate sends you a friend petition to accept it without question (you can delete them after a period if you feel you must or feel the player is inactive)

Also I suggest we all put our players levels in our online status info!

Ah! I thought it was possible to fill out an online status report for your klan profile, but I had forgotten how it was done it seems. The13thChyld alerted the matter to me. Oddly, all you must do is click under you name in the klan window, and type your status in there!

For some reason the same does not take in the friend window :\

In any case, format wise, I recommend we put our level, then dddb forum name, then at the end of the field, occasionally put the date, in month.year format. So we can see how active you are!

If you logiin to Imagine, you can see how I've filled this out for my character.

I don't think its been long enough for the recruitment advert to expire, but atm the Master is too far from 3rd Home to renew it, and will be for a while likely. I will check for you when I'm online, but all the people recruited in this thread never login, so for now the DDDB klan is pretty much defunct. The founding members login regularly, but we are so disappointed with the turnout here, we will probably reconstitute the klan sometime not too long from now after we figure out where the wiki will be hosted. Probably as DBDB, because the user base here just doesn't participate!

One member I've seen on occasion even left the other day for greener pasture. The whole klan should commit seppuku at this point. The shame is unbearable.

Is desert4gecko96 your char name btw? A name like that doesn't exactly inspire confidence in a players committment to hte game!

Unfortunately Imagine makes it very difficult to coordinate play, and especially difficult to register new klan members.

We play regularly (our activity icons are fully lit) but the odds of someone noticing a post like this and you being online when they do, and they happening to be logging into Imagine is pretty slim.

If you did not dig back to the last klan advert in the 3rdHome terminal, I encourage you to look all the way back. In the meantime it will be a while until the master will be able to get back to 3rdHome to make a new recruitment poster.

When we make the new klan, I will either have to setup a Master account just to sit in 3rd Home by the terminal, or we will have to make it Shinjuku based.

Increasingly as the game evolves its hard for any master to hang around 3rd Home (the beginner area)

Please don't blame us for difficulties -- feel free to blame the game! On the other hand, the klan really sucks, so I recommend you either join another klan or wait a little while -- an while your at it, make sure you really wanna play Imagine. Because so far players from this forum haven't demonstrated any follow through.

Of course whenever I login I will check if you are online!

On the plus side, I think we are setting up an IRC channel where all the klans can gather. Once the new wiki is up, we'll setup an irc page with a javascript applet for accessing the channel. In the meantime I'll let everyone know when the channel is setup in this thread (and most likely in a new thread)

No wonder you were having difficulty, I checked myself earlier this evening, our klan advert is gone!

Don't worry, we should have this sorted out relatively soon.

As for klan activity (or lack thereof), the pattern (without exception so far) has been that new members, after initially joining, are generally never seen nor heard from again. The founding members play regularly, the rest seem to have short attention spans and commitment issues~

Yeah, it's as if the first thing players do when they start playing is wanna join a klan. Apparently before they've decided whether they even like the game or not!

I'm not really sure what info you need to get in via an irc client atm. But you can probably figure it out from that javascript applet if you are a fan of irc.

Oh and, please don't register any Nicks until we decide what we are doing.

Hopefully this can eventually serve as a glue to tie all the klans out there together and facilitate offline synchronization of playdates.

We also have a real-time game clock ready for hosting on a server with PHP5.2+ support. You can PM me if you want, and I'll give you a link to my home server in the meantime.

We'd like to setup a page in the wiki with embedded IRC and put the clock on the front page with a moon age graphic. Jose has agreed to our demands, but I haven't heard back on any actual movements on his part!

Hopefully once everything is setup on his host, Jose should be able to wipe his hands of anymore intervention on behalf of Imagine.


PS: We should have a new recruitment poster up with the next weekend.

well I play to keep playing I heard Globe had a wiki I thought about joining them but  you guys are the ones that helped my start if Drem didn't tell me about the game I would have never joined. I have been questing and playing online with my brother and my friend who have both joined the game I am still know and not sure if I'm doing my skills intelligently and I have been playing around with the creature combinations still new and still weak I think the game is fun. I like it more then Wow and linage 2(stole my money for months). Although by not being able to read Japanese I am at a disadvantage I still like the game quite a bit and i would recommend it for others. I plan to wait till you guys are done with the wiki and set the clan back up so I can play with you guys although there is probably a HUGE level gap between us. I think if I keep playing I make slowly be able to close it.

It sounds like you have plenty of people to interact with for a new player for now. You should do fine until we can setup a new recruitment advert between now and the weekend sometime.

We are trying to setup a safety net for new players with the DDDB klan. Its not a real klan as much as a starter klan. But we also need volunteers to be available for new players to help find their legs. We realize the game is intimidating enough inspite of the language barrier.

I hope you bring more friends into the klan as well.


It's unfortunate Imagine makes something that would seem so straight forward so unaccessible. Otherwise in most respects it is a really great game, and definitely more interesting than most if not all of the alternatives available tpo the MMORPG format.

editted: Oh yes! We were informed the other night, after Act7 you can teleport between Shinjuku and 3rdHome once per day! This is great news, because in the future there should not be much difficulty renewing the recruiter poster :)

Three is the perfect party size for most dungeons unless  you are just into mindless grinding :)

Have you tried the Suginami Makai Mine dungeon yet? You shouldn't have too much trouble for the three of you leveling up there. Just be careful on the road (if you hug the right side there are some ledges you can take to avoid the demons on the main road)

Look for the D on the map outside 3rd Home, and good luck figuring out how to get your party inside. It can be tricky. If you have trouble try the irc channel/applet mentioned/linked above.

Was there some reason you left/then came back? Four more points and we get an emblem. Are we ever going to get those other two recruits :)

No reason actually I was just exploring the buttons seeing how I don't know Japanese I just clicked on the wrong thing. As for my brother and friend they have started another game a week after joining this one (cobalt or something).  you guys could have died members if you want but my brother will probably keep playing ( I SHALL make it so)... 4 more point do you only get points from members joining or do you also get them from like doing missions and stuff together OH and I'm level 16 now.

Yeah I have beat the boss by myself a few times already I like questing with them its fun although my friend didnt set ANY skills at all or use any of his level points till level 11 I was wonder for so long why he sucked so hard.

The klan actually mysteriously received four points since I last logged on last night, so next point it will finally be getting an emblem!

It seems to be stuck on the default emblem until I pickup a replacement graphics card in the morning and login to customize it.

It is an interesting statistic that about only 1 out of 10 or less of English speakers playing Imagine have ever heard of Megaten/are enthusiasts. Everyone thinks its the best MMORPG going and will even wade through Japanese to play it. But Megaten players won't touch it. WTF guys? WTF indeed?

Well yeah... if all I needed was a new card I'd been able to login almost a week ago. Turned out the card slot was burned up (worst case scenario) so like I think I told you, I have to finish researching the state of the art and wait for the parts to ship.

Hi, I've been playing the game for a bit and managed to get to level 18 with very little idea of what I'm doing. It's been awhile since I made my account and can't really type Japanese, will a screenshot of my name suffice?

Can all the klan members try to post their character names so I can add them to the front page of this thread?

I can figure out all but a few immediately, but some might make me have to crack a book, so it would save me some trouble if you just posted. Plus let everyone know you're playing and who you are :)

I might make a page for the DDDB klan in the wiki, and a page for each member character if you want to fill in some info about your chars for everyone.

You have to be online/at your keyboard to accept a petition. You should be able to use the terminal by now. The recruit add should be there. You can speed up your search by using the second or third filter (i can't remember which) if Yuriko set it up right last time.

There is a terminal registration tutorial on the 5th page i think.

Cool, if you can get to lv31 there is still an insane anniversary event going on at the moment. For level 31+ players the exp gain is ridiculous (about 1million every two days)

As mentioned in the post in the other thread, it seems the advert isn't up at the moment (last time I checked was last night).

I'm new to the game, downloaded it once almost a year ago but never got around the language barrier (I'm from the U.K and don't speak a word of Japanese, only the basics like most people). But a few days ago I decided to give it another shot, and I must say I'm really enjoying it =)

I've so far only spoken to one person in game, and even then he couldn't understand most things I was saying, but he was a nice guy, helped me out some. I'm only level 11 at the moment, I have a habit of first planning ahead and figuring out what I need to level up and how, so I level slowly sometimes. Anyway I'm rambling, but yeah, I'd love to join the Klan, no matter how inactive it is, just someone to talk to and run a dungeon or two with now and then is enough ^_^

Edit: As for my character name, it's "踰".. I'm not sure what it actually means, and I think it's Chinese. Reason for that being I chose the wrong option in AppLocale, so what I thought I pasted ended up actually coming out as that, ah well. I'm online now (channel 4, usually on 4 as it's very quiet) and should be still on for the next couple of hours =]

We might be the most active klan atm. I'll get right on that...

The DDDB klan was social-hacked by sociopaths -- believe it or not. It's an ugly story.

Yeah, after a long time, yesterday I played a little and I wasn't in the D3 klan :( So I join Globe once again :D

What is this Globe Klan and how do I join..are they for newbs?  :frown:

You just need to the Terminal, click the 3th option (if I'm not wrong), then you'll see a green window, just click the first option and search for a klan named "Globe" then you click it and then click on the buttom right option and you can leave a comment and then you're in  :wink:

Again I can only recommend Globe. The other popular in your face recruiting klan is a nest of scary internet types :ninja:

Hint: The other klan's Masters are the people that hijacked / deleted the DDDB klan :geno:

Alright I'm really lost, I don't know what a terminal is or where to find one :< and in the COMMunications Klan is greyed out.

The terminal is the big computer tower in the middle of the cities (not the stone totem poles)


Btw, it can take a long time to find a klan in the list. I don't know why on earth there isn't a search option. There are search filters but the Globe people never use them it seems  :doh:

I found the Klan and I /think/ I sent a message to whomever (right option) message (right option) They were on page 3 or 4 for some reason.. :3
