Title: The official Jose thread (site owner) Post by: yksehtniycul on October 01, 2008, 04:34:17 AM Just for the record, Jose replied to a nearly month old letter today regarding the removal of the old bbs. Apparently the host provider removed (technically more likely hid it) at the request of the vBulletin people.
It's been well more than a month since I'd heard from him last nevertheless. Make of that what you will. We'll just have to wait and see if he becomes the site Osama Binladen. Title: Re: The Jose thread (site owner) Post by: DevilRy on October 01, 2008, 12:55:04 PM Why is he not a member of the boards anyway?
Title: Re: The Jose thread (site owner) Post by: yksehtniycul on October 01, 2008, 02:14:29 PM Dunno, he had an account but apparently deleted it at some point... before the boards were exported/imported into the new forums. He might have another account... or maybe he mentioned intentions to make one. At any rate, don't ask me why
He said he was gonna play Persona4 and video capture it for a kinda youtube walkthru. Of course he promptly disappeared afterward. So you could say maybe he's interested, but is extremely non-committal. Or maybe that would be an understatement :sweatdrop: All I can say for certain is the forum/database has a free host, so don't rock the boat... Title: Re: The official Jose thread (site owner) Post by: Emilio Morales on October 01, 2008, 03:40:15 PM I don't see the point of being the owner of this site, and don't show the face every now and then. :geno:
Title: Re: The official Jose thread (site owner) Post by: yksehtniycul on October 01, 2008, 03:54:04 PM From what I understand, many sites are hosted on the same lease.
If we ever wanted to move the site to a more amenable place we'd need an alternate host or a fund raising effort to pay for one. This location seems ok enough, but it does tie my hands in many ways. Without Jose's involvement, I don't think he'd mind if the site decided to up and move itself. Just think of him and his co-site leasers as giving dddb.com a free place to crash  I can't say for certain he'd concur with that assessment, but I'm pretty sure he would. I've explained to him if the site ever picks up steam he'll have to fully publicize the ad revenue of the site. Since he's not responsible for the site in anyway, it wouldn't be right to profit of it. Title: Re: The official Jose thread (site owner) Post by: DevilRy on October 01, 2008, 08:09:48 PM No boat rocking here... :sweatdrop: Just wondered why he deleted his account.
A video walkthru for an RPG??? That's kind of... um... insane....???? :face15: Title: Re: The official Jose thread (site owner) Post by: yksehtniycul on October 02, 2008, 01:24:56 AM And what about Tony? No  Title: Re: The official Jose thread (site owner) Post by: yksehtniycul on October 02, 2008, 01:25:40 AM No boat rocking here... :sweatdrop: Just wondered why he deleted his account. A video walkthru for an RPG??? That's kind of... um... insane....???? :face15: Well theoretically it would be edited down or something. You never know... could be all the rave who knows when from now?? Title: Re: The official Jose thread (site owner) Post by: DevilRy on October 02, 2008, 03:08:34 AM Well they have that sort of thing for classic console games, usually for documenting speed runs (like with Super Metroid), but an entire RPG...? Plus there really is a random element to battle in RPGs, especially with Megaten. You never know, an especially successful Mahamudo or a buffed up Megido can floor your party... Well, I don't really know how it'd work with P4 admittedly.
