October 23rd has been set as the Japanese release date for Devil Summoner Kuzunoha Raidou vs. King Abadon, the new installment in the Devil Summoner series.    A limited release version subtitled "Plus," will also be available and features and extra disc: "Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne Maniacs Chronicle Edition," which is rumored to be a new edition of Maniacs, one where Dante's character has been replaced by Raidou.  The regular edition contains a bonus soundtrack CD.

King Abadon throws you back into the role of Raidou, 14 years after the events in the previous game.  This time around there's over twice the amount of recruitable demons and up to two can be summoned at once.  Demon negotiation has been brought back from the previous Devil Summoner games and your demon companions are able to help you out in the process.  You are even able to forge your demon partners into new types of weapons.

As of yet Atlus USA has made no announcement on a possible North American release of the 'Plus' edition of King Abadon or of 'Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne Maniacs Chronicle Edition.'

Okay, I touched it up a bit here and there and submitted it for review.  Let me know if I need to fix anything.

I'm just curious if Abadon should be Abaddon? And seems like you could find a more graceful way to work Plus into the title.

Perhaps Plus should be a separate story with a more attention grabbing title??


Also the categories seem over the top, but reasonable. I'll probably do some thinking about them myself, but you shouldn't worry about it.


Regardless I published the story. You should be able to edit it at any time for accuracy.

How about "Kuzunoha Raidou vs. King Abaddon hits Japan"... mention the special edition. Then make another article that explains the Plus edition and possible rumors etcetera. Headlines need to be short and engaging :smokin:

Do we really need a separate article for the Plus edition?  They are being released the same day after all.

I'm also hesitant to write an article about Plus since all I know about it is what I already wrote.

Oh it's no big deal. But the Plus revelation to me just seems like a naturally separate meme... but I'm not gonna ask people to do more work.

As the blog is now, long titles like that kinda get mashed up. But that would be better than /Plus.

As soon as possible the blog page will be able to expand out wider than 700 some odd pixels. But will never be so wide as to make the columns difficult to follow -- with respect to the font size.

PS: Amateur no... but it is a job, whilst not being profitable nor truly appreciated :biggrin:

I was about to mention it's possible you can't edit after publication. I know you could've edited before I published it. But I'd have to dig back out the Contributor privilege docs to be sure about post-publishment-editing.

At any rate, if you wanna just post your changes in here, I'll use my Editor privileges to take care of everything.

Just slim down the title to whatever you think is appropriate and change the text mentioned above.

Also change the text: "which is rumored to be a new edition of Maniacs, one where Dante’s character has been replaced by Raidou." to "a new edition of Maniacs rumored to have Dante's character replaced by Raidou."

You also might want to replace "14 years after" with "some time after," as I'm not sure how accurate that 14 year figure is (looking at the website it says '12').  Also you might want to add a link to the official website: http://www.new-moon.tv/

Abadon or Abaddon?

Abadon is more accurate to the Japanese title...  "Abaddon" might be what Atlus USA is using but I can't find an official blurb on the matter.

I re-published the report. I changed the name to Abaddon. Reworked the categories some. And I rolled back the publishing date to Aug 1st, and created a special Retro category for retro-posted reports. Retro-posted = word I made up.

I edited in the actual posting date after your signing.

In the future if people wanna make retro reports going back to whenever, that is great. Just do your research and make sure you follow this protocol. Also write from the period, not the present :doh:

Just a suggestion. Is there a way to put the images more bigger? Like the ones I posted on the thread of Devil Summoner a while a go. :biggrin:

Question: Do you think Kaneko really did those covers? The faces definitely look different.... could be mimicking him? :goodnight:

It's true that the design looks a bit different, but nah! I guess it was made on another software or with less dedication than the previous designs.


EDIT: Or maybe with another style, since Kaneko haven't worked for a design on a SMT game since P3, I guess he "forgot" how he made the designs or something like that! XD

Actually there is this Slimbox/Lightbox thingie Tony was using. I will try to remember to look into that.

As for these new faces... the proportions are pretty messed up (even more than usual for Kaneko) ...I have a feeling he is just signing off on this one (has he ever been called The Producer before?) ...though he probably did do some concept work for it, ie. King Abaddon. You'll probably have to pay close attention to the credits to figure out what was what.

I went over your Abaddon report with an underscore highlighter. I got the idea from Tony's old posts, though I perhaps took it further. It seems to work well I think. Especially for the short attention span of the modern online reader :rainbow:

It would be like: "Convocador Diabólico Kuzunoha Raidou vs. El Rey Abaddon & Más" or "Convocador de Demonios Kuzunoha Raidou vs. El Rey Abaddon & Más"" or "Convocador del Diablo Kuzunoha Raidou vs. El Rey Abaddon & Más"

And for Digital Devil Database it would be like: "Base de Datos Diablo Digital" or "Base de Datos Diabolica Digital" (literally) but I guess it sounds cooler and better "Base de Datos Digital Demoniaca".

It's kinda hard to translate those titles and keep the "coolness" of the title in a different language.

Is Diabolica not diabolical? Would Diablo not make more sense?

What about Diablo Digital Base de Datos?

Or just Digital Diablo Database? Commercially acceptable??
