Title: Disgaea? Post by: Laharl on June 05, 2006, 11:35:08 AM Anybody? Played? Disgaea????
Title: Re: Disgaea? Post by: Tony on June 05, 2006, 10:12:45 PM I bought the original when it came out. I put quite a bit of time into it, but it's one of those games that I couldn't possibly invest enough into to really finish it. There's just far too much going on and I like to do every thing I can possibly manage to do in one playthrough lol.
I'm not usually into Strategy RPGs of that sort, but I did enjoy the game. The situation was fun and the translation was solid. I've never bothered with the other titles related to it (Pucelle, etc), but I figure I'll go back to Disagea again at some point. Title: Re: Disgaea? Post by: Laharl on June 06, 2006, 02:06:43 AM Disgaea is one of my favorite as you may guess))
Complete walktrough eat 130 hours of my time)) Title: Re: Disgaea? Post by: Dr. Frostbite on June 06, 2006, 10:58:15 PM Laharl in my game is around level 700... I had to stop myself from trying to do anything else, lol.
Title: Re: Disgaea? Post by: Argilla on June 07, 2006, 10:06:14 PM The only form I've seen Disgaea is...the anime.^^; I would like to play the game though! *just needs to find a copy*
Title: Re: Disgaea? Post by: Dr. Frostbite on June 09, 2006, 05:44:18 PM Ebay is your best bet, lol.
Title: Re: Disgaea? Post by: Icy Ace on June 17, 2006, 10:50:55 PM Well... I haven't played it lately, but Disgaea's one of my favorite games ever.
Really looking forwards to Disgaea 2... from what I've heard, it's just as good as the original. Title: Re: Disgaea? Post by: Lycanthroat on June 18, 2006, 05:57:09 PM Over here, Disgaea isn't that rare (lot's of people bought, thought "WTF?!" and took it back to the shop). I quite liked it, but I levelled up to 100 and then just got so very tired of CONSTANTLY levelling up.
I'll prolly get Disgaea 2 though - I loved it's wacky charm. I hope it's not toned down like Atelier Iris 2 was. Title: Re: Disgaea? Post by: JaggedJim on June 19, 2006, 09:47:59 AM Yeah, Disgaea was a fun game. the only problem I have with it (and all of N1's SRPGs, for that matter) is an over-reliance on levels and statistics instead of sound strategy and tactics.
I'm still going to get Disgaea 2 when it comes out. Title: Re: Disgaea? I purchased the first day it was released. Played it for 30-40 hours, and started to loathe it. It is waaaay too easy and kind of bland on many levels in my eyes. I did like the character design I guess. Title: Re: Disgaea? Post by: Gouto-Douji on October 18, 2006, 12:14:11 PM i have both, and between them both, they have eaten up at least 250 hours of my life i'll never get back, hours well spent in my book though:smug:
Title: Re: Disgaea? Post by: RiflesAtRecess on October 19, 2006, 05:55:31 PM Disgaea is a rather good game, but I also own La Puccelle Tactics and Phantom Brave, and I consider PB to be much better. I wasn't a fan of PB's story, mind you, but I loved the gameplay, it was the only game of the three that I've actually beaten.
On the other end, I loved Disgaea's characters and story. I miss playing the game, actually. I'm probably going to play it again after typing this, haha. I just hate how it looks on my LCD TV. Ugh.[/size] Title: Re: Disgaea? Post by: Gouto-Douji on October 20, 2006, 12:54:58 PM I hated Phantom Brave with a passion, the difficulty was so uneven, and a tactical RPG with no grid? What a disaster. La Pucelle was awesome though

La Pucelle was awesome though I agree about the difficulty, but I much liked the gridless battles. It was a good change from other SRPG's which always feel the same. I didn't like La Pucelle very much because of the actual battling scenes when you attack enemies. It kind of broke up the action too much and seemed out of place. Title: Re: Disgaea? Post by: Gouto-Douji on October 23, 2006, 12:01:37 PM Yeah, La Pucelle could be pretty slow going, but i still think it was more solid of a game than Phantom Brave. i suppose each has its Pro's and Con's
Title: Re: Disgaea? Post by: Enid on March 27, 2007, 08:26:48 PM I'm a fan of Disgaea,I have played 1 and 2.Currently I have put in a lot of hours for the first one,but for the second....I just beat the storyline and moved on to other RPGs.I'll get back to power leveling some day...
