Title: Spanish (española) Post by: rokuso3 on March 17, 2009, 02:07:30 AM I made this post to ask one thing to Emilio Morales, so basically it will be in Spanish, sorry =_=. I'm not sure if this is the right place so sorry again.
If people want to use the website that is awesome! I don't care if they speak Martian :smokin: PS: Just an idea. Might be a good trend to write the subject in the language of the topic (in this case Spanish) ...so those who're unable to read the subject will be less inclined to click on it (eg. if they don't want to) Title: Re: Spanish version (Versión española) Post by: yksehtniycul on March 17, 2009, 03:15:53 AM My Spanish doesn't have to be that awesome to let you know, you don't want these lines:
<h2 class="d3-page-title">Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne</h2> <div class="entry"> ... <br><em><small>© <a href="http://www.digitaldevildb.com/archived.php?url=/tony/" title="Visit Tony's website" rel="external">Tony</a> </small></em> Also, please try this new page I setup just for this: http://www.digitaldevildb.com/maintenance/info/pages/?permalink=/games/megami-tensei-titles/shin-megami-tensei-nocturne/  Title: Re: Spanish version (Versión española) Post by: Emilio Morales on March 17, 2009, 04:13:15 PM Y exactamente que es lo que necesitas saber?
Ya si tienes problemas con el uso de Wordpress, hazmelo saber mas detalladamente  Btw, sorry I haven't been working with the translations, but I'm currently working on my final proyects at collage, so I can't do any other thing but homeworks >_< I hope I can get with some translations as soon as possible. Title: Re: Spanish (española) Post by: yksehtniycul on March 18, 2009, 08:27:54 PM I changed the name of this thread to Spanish (so now this thread is the official Spanish localization thread)
FYI: The Tower of Babel board is really for translation discussion. You can post in any language on any of the boards about other stuff. Title: Re: Spanish (española) Post by: yksehtniycul on March 18, 2009, 08:42:10 PM What's going on with this Nocturne translation btw??
Title: Re: Spanish (española) Post by: rokuso3 on March 27, 2009, 05:51:22 PM Ok!
I was gone some days (or weeks...) and I didn't see your posts. Anyways, I think I finished it, so I sended it to be reviewed. At least, that's what wordpress said (I have never used it before)...... Title: Re: Spanish (española) Post by: yksehtniycul on March 27, 2009, 06:48:52 PM I made a few necessary changes to the post (nothing in the content body though) ...you can make these changes yourself in the future, and it will save me some trouble. And also for now at least, your translation will show up on the website even before it is published (once you make these changes) ...that is sort of a security hole, but actually it's probably better that it save me the trouble of approving it, as long as your page looks right.
Unfortunately, I still have to add some code to the page template for this kind of page before your translation will show up. I will do that as soon as I possibly can~ PS: If you want to see your page on the website immediately, you might need to use the ?nocache argument in the url (if someone has visited the page in that language recently) Also, we aren't using WordPress' "tag" system right now. We do use the categories for news items. But since the tagging system is virtually identical we are saving it for something special I think. Anyway, someday maybe we will make official tags, and when we do there will only be one per post. And basically they will be for automatically adding little graphics near the titles of the posts (like a character from P3 for a P3 post and so on) Unfortunately there is no proper way to keep our contributors from making tabs. But it's actually pretty dangerous, because if your tag is the same name as a category it can really mess things up (though in the past things have gone back to normal after the tag is deleted) Title: Re: Spanish (española) Post by: yksehtniycul on March 27, 2009, 08:18:56 PM Congratulations :rainbow:

Ok! Lately, I couldn't connect to the internet, but I have almost translated the Megami Ibunroku and Persona 3 articles. Which changes do I have to make? Thanks in advance ^^ Title: Re: Spanish (española) Post by: yksehtniycul on May 15, 2009, 05:17:50 PM Glad you made it back :rainbow:
About changes?? Since you still only have the one Nocturne post in our WordPress database, I have to assume you're just asking about general changes... So what I recommend is after you're done with a new translation, just use the Nocturne post you have (I think you should be able to still see it) and compare it to your new post, just using common sense to get an idea of how the translation posts should be (what the title and url slug should be etc.) If you do everything right, for now at least, your translation should show up on the website automatically (without my intervention) ^That is technically a security hole, but we trust our Contributors (for now at least ) PS: Of course do everything you can to make the translated page look like the original (except for the words obviously) ...and if you still can't make it work, then let me know (also once you feel like you've done all you can, change your posts status to Pending Review... and hopefully I'll notice it :sweatdrop:) |
