So, I've been playing this game off and on since yesterday and I've broken it down to the GOOD and the BAD.

The GOOD:
-Well, obviously it's Maniacs without Dante so that's already a plus in my book.
-You can import data from previous editions of Nocturne (Maniacs or regular).
-It looks like the Amala dungeon and other additional features from Maniacs are intact.

The BAD:
-No New Game + for previous editions.  So you have to go through the whole damn game again without your old game's Akuma Zenshou.  You also don't get to keep the hoodie since it isn't a New Game +.
-You are allowed up to five nakama from previous games to be imported into your Akuma Zenshou straight from the beginning.  Well, you can't really access the Zenshou until you get to Ikebukuro and Level restrictions still apply (not to mention your wallet), so this feature seems essentially useless.  It chooses the nakama at random too, so it's not fun cycling through a random list of 100 + trying to figure out what's your best bet.

Honestly I'm not really sure if I want to go through this whole game again just for an extra dungeon, some skeleton demons, and a new (probably less than 5 minute) ending.  I mean the game was long enough without the Amala dungeon.  The whole thing is just so hardcore as to be almost ridiculous.

So if you were expecting a quick romp through Chronicle Edition... Nope.  Whole game again, from start to finish.

That's definitely the version for me if any.

edited: What do you have to do to play with the hoodie? I take it isn't just an option from the start??

You have to have already beaten this edition of the game and be on your second cycle.  I mean, you're wearing it at the beginning, but you lose it after you run into lil' Lucifer and get your first Magatama.  I guess it grants some minor stat bonuses of some sort.
