I felt ill the entire time I played Romancing SaGa. I really cannot figure out what the appeal of it is... and this is from someone who generally likes similar games to it. I've not really liked any of the SaGa games, though.
I don't think it's possible for anyone to genuinely like a SaGa game.

I think it was honestly one of the worst RPG's I've ever played. Other than trying to look pretty at some points, I've got nothing good to say about it.

I think it was honestly one of the worst RPG's I've ever played. Other than trying to look pretty at some points, I've got nothing good to say about it. I don't even know if I can agree with this. I'm usually open to art styles, but I can't even get over how the characters look to this day. It's not so much just their appearance, but coupling that with their animations it's just too much. The game has the worst horse animation I think I've ever seen, on top of that.
Beyond which, at least on my TV (I'm running on a HDTV via component, so maybe it's more obvious) the watercolor style effect the game goes for just makes it look insanely pixelated.
At some point I'm going to give it another shot, but I don't know when that'll be. It's not worth enough to just sell it.

LOL Cammy lists Shadow of the Colossus as one of her favorite RPGs, then says RS is one of the worst.
I'm not a fan of the SaGa series, but Minstrel Song is an excellent title.

Has anyone ever read this? It's basically a 7,558 word article on why Minstrel Song is bad.

While nearly 8,000 words sounds impressive, it is pretty much an essay on how he is too retarded to understand RS's systems -- maybe I should say he isn't patient enough for them. I couldn't stand Unlimited Saga, but I found RS very accessible, especially if you give it a little time. Most of reviews I read regarding RS honestly made me feel as though the reviewer quit playing only after a few hours.

Firstly, I bought Romancing SaGa thinking that I would like it, and I hadn't had experience with other SaGa games. I thought I didn't like it because I didn't understand what to do (which to some extent I didn't, har har). So I ended up getting the buyers guide and put the few pieces of the overly complex puzzle that is this sandbox rpg and realized I sincerely DID NOT like this game.
But RPGs I do like include: Okage - Simple, stylized, and funny Stella Deus - A bit ridiculously long and its an SRPG, but I like the Characters and Story. Nocturne & DDS- Naturally Pokemon RBY - Who didn't <3 those bastards before they sold out?
PS: I said Okage :) Whenever I say that people always want to hear Okami; which is understandable.

Setting the MegaTen series aside, my favorite RPGs are probably Vandal Hearts, Golden Sun 1 & 2, and Final Fantasy VIII.

My favorite RPG is probably Xenogears, but honestly I have always had a hard time pinning down something as a favorite since there are so many factors involved in the decision.
The SaGa series is my favorite rpg franchise. At this point I have no clue how many times I have played through SaGa Frontier, but I have probably played each character at least 3 times. I really enjoyed playing Romancing SaGa and have already gone through 5 characters and am working on my 6th.
Some other notable favorite games in no particular order are SMT: Nocturne, Baldur's Gate II, Dragon's Quest IV, Suikoden II, Shadow Hearts I & II, Vagrants Story, FFXII, Xenosaga I & III, Tales of Eternia, Ogre Tactics, BoF II, IV & V.
