I'm looking for information on art books by Kaneko Kazuma. I've managed to find these two here:
I've got a friend who loves the series and they want to try to find the book with all of the demons in it, but that one is called Pandaemonium or something in y'alls gallery.
So I am wondering if these books have a lot of good demon pictures in them? Or if anyone knows where to find the Pandaemonium book?

I am a big fan of Kazuma Kaneko works , for me he is the best graphic design that I ever seen. I would love to have this art books!! For what I know, the "Pandemonium" art book is related to the art of: Devil Summoner to Maken X, and there you´ll find art of, Soul Hackers, Persona 2, Tsumi and Batsu (but I´m not quite sure). Here I managed to find some places where you can buy them:

And here you can find, Kazuma Kaneko Works: http://cgi.ebay.com/KAZUMA-KANEKO-ILLUSTRATION-WORKS-I-ART-BOOK-Japan_W0QQitemZ200065874047QQihZ010QQcategoryZ1345QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem (Volume 1) http://cgi.ebay.com/KAZUMA-KANEKO-ILLUSTRATION-WORKS-II-ART-BOOK-Japan-2_W0QQitemZ200017388532QQihZ010QQcategoryZ1345QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem (Volume 2)
The worst thing, is that these art books are really expensive, but in my opinion, they worth it!!!:axeman:
Signature under construction 'cause the last one died.

Holden, you could take a poke around the megaten merchandise thread HERE, we were talking about some megaten/persona books on the more recent pages. I think otaku.com has those kaneko books for sale at about the same price as ebay, but with cheaper shipping XD animebooks.com also had those on clearance, but one is already sold out last I saw. They also have the compendium and the book of demons. Do some comparative shopping, you might save a bit of $, especially on shipping, (shipping is insane o.o) Good luck! (and share some pictures from the books if you do get them :P)
The gate is open; it's time to raise some Hell!

Animebooks.com doesn't actually have the Book of Demons in stock and they don't answer any of my e-mails. I'm not sure I'd bother with them.
Otaku.com is good though, I've ordered from them several times and it's always been a pleasant experience. I have pretty much every art book of note though, so if you're looking for something super specific I might be able to help you. I just haven't had time to really scan all of them in (it takes forever), plus sometimes I'm kind of bothered by the "ethics" of that to begin with.

I'm going to restore the vol1 artbook page I think. But I'd like as much clean info about these books as possible... mainly exact titles and cover art.

I really geeked out on the new gallery page:
http://www.digitaldevildb.com/print/pandaemonium/book-1of3/
Came out pretty awesome I think. I even worked in the numbering system (whatever it means)
I'm guessing the missing numbers are in the other volume -- unless they were just never scanned for this gallery (doubt it)
I still haven't worked on the closeup page. I didn't expect to spend half as much time as I did on this one, so I'll probably put it off for a day or two more
edited: Oh yeah, another cool feature is you can view up to 36 thumbs in the gallery now. The default is still 9 however. I'd like there to be an introduction page, but there are [3][6][9][18][36] buttons on the page for changing the gallery setup. You can technically use any number you want below 36 actually if you put it in the url manually.

Being the most important can't be seen in the eyes |
Neat! I was wondering how you wanted to handle transferring those to the new set-up.
A couple of friendly criticisms: the names and numbers of the demons have a rather large blank space between them which can be kind of confusing to the eye, especially so in conjunction with the art that has multiple figures on it. Also, the way you present the option of display (by multiples of 3) is also how most sites set up navigation through multiple pages - like if you click {9} you go to the 9th page and so on. I'd say put some text next to it or something instead of "Back to Top" (or in addition to) - something like "# to Display" or something, otherwise it's not really self-explanatory.

I hear what you're saying, but I don't think people are that stupid. You can see that the numbers are the first thing on the right, by looking at either the first thumb on the page or any of the 3rd column thumbs. It really doesn't make sense to give people page options, and I don't think people would confuse a list like 3,6,9,18, as page numbers... and it says "back to top" beside them, so you know where it's gonna take you. Mostly I tried different ways of working that option into the page, and the alternatives are all pretty ugly (if you haven't noticed I like elegant layouts)
So basically if people can't figure it out, they will after clicking around a little, and adding more text would just be ugly (I could add a popup explanation box I guess -- we could use [] site wide to indicate popup information I guess)
I'm more worried about handling the pages you go to when clicking on the thumbs. That's going to be more disorienting no matter how I do it. I'm tempted to just use lightbox directly, but at the same time I'd like to have an ad ladened single post / mid size graphic page. Tony has extra info for many of the Devils, but it's stuff that I don't think is in the book (if it is I'd like to know) ...so I'm not sure if it's appropriate to use as supplementary info.
PS: I'm just trying to incorporate more of Tony's stuff into the website. I'm not real positive how I'd do it from scratch if we ever get more scans in or whatever.

Okiedokes,
Did all I could for now with the closeup pages:
http://www.digitaldevildb.com/print/pandaemonium/book-1of3/works/
I always underestimate how much time it will take to pull this stuff together, I hope someone digs it
I even stuck in some code that adds some optimization information to Tony's old database (a copy)
Basically to save from looking up three devils per page (for the next/previous info)
I'm uncertain what to do about adding extra information to the page. Most everything is in the image, though granted a bit small at either rez. I would like to pull supplemental information from the encyclopedia section, but that doesn't really exist yet... some day I guess.
I might add a little quote from Tony when available, and I'll probably add a credits to Tony bit to the page... but for now I deserve a break
While you're oggling the gallery, don't forget to scope out the ads flanking either side (curtains-like aren't they) you might see something interesting
