Hi, seeing how the forums are categorized right now and looking ahead:

1: The naming:
It may be more efficient, in the long run,
to name each forum by their respective titles.

2: The amount:
SMT and DDS are fine with their own boards.
(Main series & currently most known. Likely the be used alot.)

The rest can be crammed into 1 and would feel the same.
(Spinoffs & old stuff. Likely to be visited every now and then.)

Later on, Devil Summoner, which'll likely be brought overseas,
could use a forum of its own. (Much news/updates expected soon.)

3: The order:
Even for game specific message boards,
it's safe to say that the level of activity in "General Discussion"
may equal or even surpass those of the games themselves.

When we're not talking about SMT or DDS,
we talk about, well, everything/anything else!
So that would probably do better on top.

Basically, here's the suggested layout, keeping it simple:

+General Discussion

+Shin Megami Tensei
+Digital Devil Saga
+Devil Summoner
+Other

+Updates / Questions etc.

Feel free to comment, thanks! xd

I don't think there's enough activity to warrant any kind of change, and overall, it's fine the way it is now.

Yeah that's right, the "not enough activity" of certain forums...
Like, why keep 'em there?

...Certain Forums? The entire forum's been up for, what, 2 days? I meant in general -- the forum itself does not have enough activity to warrant a change. Additionally, I believe the sub-forums should be kept because it's convenient.

By certain forums I mean, Persona, Demikids, Majin, Maken...
Even combined into 1 aren't likely to receive an amount of posts
comparable to what either SMT or DDS would.

And that's looking at it a while from now.
Not just by the past 2 days. xd

That's fine, I'm just saying I'm content with the way it is now -- I prefer it this way, because as I mentioned, I find it convenient. Though, I think I agree on Majin Tensei, Maken X and Devil Children. But, Persona? I think that, ultimately if the board layout were to be changed, that Persona should still be allowed its own sub-section -- just because it's Persona and probably still the most widely known series here when it comes to Atlus.

The latest Persona game came out like what, 5 years ago?
Actually, isn't Persona the first of any of these games to reach N/A?
Time flies by so fast...

Seems like we're the only ones posting right now. Keep it up! :blah:

That's not that long ago, still, it could generate discussion. Not too sure, though. I'm wrong quite often. >_>;

It's up to the forum "leaders", so, I trust them to make whatever decision they feel is the best.

Edit: Actually, I have one suggestion I'd like to add: I think the General (Shin) Megami Tensei forum should be renamed -- I just think "El Elohim Eloho Elohim Sebaoth" is kind of odd for a name. I'm thinking something more along the lines of "Makai", "Terminal" or uh, "Tokyo Millennium" something like that. (I'm not too good at this.)

That's if we count that Kaneko-less, non-RPG, Virtual Boy game
as part of this whole thing. :blah:

I agree with that, actually, and it's something I was concerned about before I opened this up... I like Tokyo Millennium myself and I'll probably be going with that. Naming them after titles is just dull... there's a subtitle under each one anyway, so if someone got confused I don't know what to say lol.

As for the general section layout, it's kind of up for grabs. I used to work at otakuboards.com as a Super Moderator and I run my own little one called Group Sounds. In general, I find that the less sections there are, the better. I've actually considered a lot of what is being said in here before. As for right now, I went with the general idea of each major series having its own section. This can easily be changed if we find it isn't working out and anything in it could be moved all at once instantaneously.

This forum has basically been up for a few weeks now while I tried to figure things out. I've actually been thinking that I would be best off putting Demi-Kids within "Other" to help even that one out. I'm thinking the idea of a "General" forum would be good because it could include talk of art or music pertaining to the series. I also figured it would be good to stick in any games that don't have their own sections (thus becoming a container for general discussion and stuff about Maken X, Demi-Kids, etc). It frees things up without being redundant, I think.

Persona probably won't warrant much discussion in and of itself right now. It has been years, as Kakusha says, since the last game. However, we still know next to nothing about the PSP version, so it's possible it will pick up... I don't know, obviously.

Anyway, yeah. I'm changing that forum name and removing the separate Demi-Kids forum... particularly since it's doubtful we'll see more of those here any time soon. And altering the Remainders forum into a General forum.

Good? :buh:

Just thought I'd mention you misspelled "millennium" on Tokyo Millennium, heh.
