So, I've been "watching" this game for a while -- and it sounds awesome.
There isn't much to the gameplay of Dead Rising, just get weapons and kill lots of zombies. You start off the game as Frank, a photojournalist who ran into a town infested with zombies. The level we played had spawned Frank on top of a vendor's cart in the middle of a mall. The area was circular with a tree in the center, and absolutely overflowing with zombies. Seriously there had to be over one hundred zombies shambling around in there, and they were all onscreen at once with no noticeable slowdown.
Sounds like it'll be fun, and there haven't been many real complaints from the people who've played the demo. Apparently, you'll be able to use a ton of different objects as weapons (I hope it'll have a lawnmower), which seems like that'll make it a lot more fun. The only problem I've seen so far is that there aren't that many different zombie "models" -- only like, 5 or so, from what I had seen. Though, they may change this.
Too bad it's going to be on the X-Box 360 -- probably the console I'd consider getting the least. Hopefully there'll be a port? You can see a few trailers here at GameTrailers. Surely, I'm not the only one interested in this game?
